Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.

Clement Clarke Moore

Clement Clarke Moore is credited as the author of the famous poem A Visit from St Nicholas, more commonly known as The Night Before Christmas, which was first published in 1823.
