This is a tutorial on how to add variety and asymmetry to poses in order to get away from the boring look that is present in a lot of people's artwork. It's a bit of an intermediate level tutorial as you need to know how to turn forms in 3D space, but it's something to think about, even if you can't yet see the images in your mind.

Tools:
Wacom Intuos3 12x9
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Camtasia Studio

Hey Sycra, your tutorials are amazing. But I`m having a small issue. It has passed three days since I first bought my Drawing Tablet. Problem is that, with the tablet, I`m not as good as with pencil to draw stuff. And I have been checking some five to seven videos you have done, but since you have a loot of videos I couldn`t find anything that shows me about setting brushes. I`m with some dificults to set up a Drawing Brush, just like the one you used on this video. If you, or anyone else, could help me, I would be much appreciated. Thanks, and keep the gorgerous work. :D

idk it's all personal preference, but a great place to start would be changing flow to 5-30 percent it will feel like you are sketching with pencil

+dong won Well,  for now I have reached some nice settings using the flow control by the pen sensitivity, but I had to disable Dynamic Shapes, otherwise the line ends are too small and it really don`t look like a draw (But it`s interesting for making hair and stuff). About opacity I have been messing around a bit, and 80 looks just great, generally my brush size is around 3 or 5 and I`m using a 2560x1600 textures. When making some shading it`s good to increase the brush size to a around 60 and use opacity like 15 or 12.

A good way to learn about posing is to look a what photographers do since they're always posing people...
I found this video very helpful and I'd like to share another I just found.
Has a lot of information, and even if it's meant for photography the same techniques apply for drawing.

+hatsuuaki  I can answer that question for you.  You asked how do you learn to draw poses without reference?  Well, the answer is as simple as practice.  Draw lots of poses of actual people, as well as learning to draw a basic manikin figure, and you will have no trouble with your poses. :)
