That is true. This book detonates Guy Delisle travel stories (eg Jerusalem Chronicles ). Small format, 80 pages, no phylactery. The reader or, rather, the viewer is immersed in a book of intimate sketches. In addition to the brief introduction of Delisle, the sketches are left to themselves and each take their place.

Place sketches, namely the space they take up in the pages offer an interesting treatment. We truly feel that they have been sketched on the spot and were not "fitted" for publication. Some therefore take up more space on a page than others and it seems natural.

Unlike previous comic Guy Delisle, it is not staged. through his eyes we see. And anyone who knows Quebec recognizes each of the places that are represented (or almost). It is possible to know the city of Quebec, without going to the smaller front in North America (6, rue Donnacona).

But the places, buildings are not the only ones represented. The people of Quebec have their place. So, one can not help having a little smile remembering our own experiences in the Quebec City Summer Festival or even in front of a military band. Guy Delisle person forgets and gives us a look, of course staff, but different in Quebec City. And if it were possible, we would have like to snuggle.

Although this short collection differs from the usual style of the stories by Guy Delisle, Quebec sketch takes us back to the intimacy of the cartoonist. That runs through it quickly or we take the time to decipher each illustration, the experience remains tasty and makes us eager to procure the next book by Guy Delisle.
