Alright, so Wednesday, March 6th maybe. And I'm driving home in the rain trying to catch Karim's basketball game. Still trying to figure out what the back and forth between Florence and the right link will be. Where she sends the letter off and of course where it came from. And of course, I like the idea of it coming from Memphis Tennessee. Perhaps every city in the network is an old city, a city from the ancient world. I like it. So maybe it comes from Memphis Tennessee. And possibly maybe the letter never was in Florence's mailbox to begin with. It was a letter that was supposed to be sent to a Florence in another town. That's another possibility. And perhaps nice hawk. Perhaps Florence tries to return to send her. That's confusing. But anyway, what kind of people do they accept? They have to accept people who are willing to be private people who are not in a position to in some sort of public eye. But the idea is that they are not clandestine, but they are... They are kind of behind the scenes. And perhaps one of the technical means by which the various links can speed up the process is that they use shortwave radio. So there are a couple of ham radio operators that read the letters. And then from there the letters are disseminated. Now, and of course the only way the ham radio operators work is through codes. So it's not like you can actually just get on a radio and start talking about the flight of horse. And that will be a bit of a mystery to her. Maybe one day she learns that it's all behind the scenes done through ham radio. I mean not 100% behind the scenes, but they are a handful of radio operators that rebroadcast the letters essentially. So one of the things they're looking for is that one Florence, they're looking for writers and they're looking for illustrators. And then they pair the writers up with the illustrators to create stories on the scroll. And the idea is that the writer and the illustrator must... Well, maybe the illustrator is also the person who comes up with the story type, the type setting, the layout of the type. And maybe they... I don't know.

Okay, here's a thought. What if the letter, so in this system, in this network, which is truly anonymous, how do they recruit new members? And Florence was actually... I mean, was basically the... Sorry, I'm yawning there, was actually... responding to an anonymous recruitment operation. So, what if she basically... What if she basically decides that, you know, they had no idea that her name was Florence. So that kind of attracted to her. I mean, most of the time they send these letters out and they don't get any response or they get returned to sender. But, you know, maybe it's hard to say how, you know, maybe this organization has also been operating for quite some time. And again, being anonymous, no one really knows, no one can actually say how long it's been around. Yeah, so, you know, the... I mean, no one person in the organization knows exactly the entire scale of the organization, of the network. So, that's another kind of interesting. But, you know, when you... You know, there are signatures to their letters that indicate whether or not you remember the organization. There is a structure. And only verified members will know, I mean, the structure and the shared secret is proof that you're a verified member. And, yeah, so, for example, you'll be given a name. And you'll be given... Perhaps a cohort. And, I don't know, cohort sounds a bit too Harry Pottery. You know, there's nothing wiser to be about this. It's all like using real technology, real people. Let's say, for example, you know, there's a possibility there, but, you know, the shared secret will also authenticate her. She needs to be authenticated. So, yeah. Now that they got... They've got a person of interest. They have a prospective candidate. They need to vet her. And how do they vet her? Well, they will ask her some literary questions. They will ask her some personal questions. And these are questions that we need to like reuse in the story. And they need to be revealing questions, perhaps, about later parts of the story. Sorry. Oh, sleepy. Now, will Florence be impressed that this is a recruitment letter? Or maybe they'll tell her later. Yeah, maybe it'll be later on in the story that she'll learn. It was a recruitment letter. So, I need to pause again, because I think some more.

Just thought of another aspect to the story. What if Florence just can't really, you know, is losing it in, you know, as a person, as she grows older, you know, and she, she continues to be extremely curious about who the organization is, who's behind it. And more specifically, you know, like who the right link is, and the right link in the right link is, you know, I mean, she will, I think in an effort to discover who the right link is, she will travel to England only to find out that the person who was in England was simply transcribing the conversations, so reading the letters back and forth and transcribing them and sending them off. Now, in addition to that, she learns basically that the right link is who's code word was perhaps maybe he was a Nagib named after Nagib Mafuz or perhaps another famous Egyptian writer, not really sure yet, but, or, you know, well, I don't know if he would, the two bold to call himself Horus, Horus, or so maybe he will pick either the name of an Egyptian, a famous Egyptian at the time of writer specifically, or a Western writer too, I mean, it doesn't have to be Egyptian just because he's Egyptian. I mean, anyone could pick an Egyptian writer. So yeah, that's another aspect to it all. So yeah, so once she's in England and discovers that the right link is in Egypt, she then has to decide, is she going to to Egypt now? I also said that the main project of this organization, the Flight of Horus, is the scroll. And so when you are handed the scroll, you must contribute to it, or, and you must surrender something extremely personal. And in Florence's case, she has surrendered herself. She becomes, she sacrifices herself, not in death, but she no longer is who she is. She, she literally abandons life in Texas, life in the United States, and chooses to simply live in Egypt. What does that mean? It means that, well, I'm here at the basketball game, I gotta go.
