Goodreads Quote of the Day for Saturday
A house is not a home until it has a dog.
Gerald Durrell, who was born in India on January 7, 1925, was a British naturalist, conservationist, and author whose life-long fascination with animals began when he was living with his family as a boy on Corfu. His years spent exploring the island’s fauna formed the basis of his book My Family and Other Animals and its successors, Bird, Beasts and Relatives, and The Garden of the Gods. Durrell later led many wildlife-collecting expeditions, recounting his experiences in a number of books written with his trademark perception and wry humor. Durrell, who died in 1995, was the younger brother of the novelist Lawrence Durrell.
