Note
This is the story of Florence Peacock, an 11 year old girl living in small town West Texas. One day when she was out wandering in the cotton fields, she comes across a truckload of immigrants stranded in her hometown. They eventually fix their truck and move on, but one person seems to have been left behind.
She attends Cotton Middle School that has recently recently a bad rating by the state school board because of it's lack of art, world geography and language classes. Miraculously the school is able to hire a new teacher.
