Rashid and Ahmed try to avoid the car traffic they encounter on the corniche on their way to the library.  Their efforts are continuously foiled as they steer clear of one accident only to find another in their way.  By the time they arrive at the library, they discover it has been closed for an unscheduled private tour.  Ahmed can see that this is happening because of the diplomatic cars parked on the curb.
