This is a murder mystery that is being investigated by an Internet security expert (http://www.honeynet.org/about).  The events around the case seem pretty cut and dry, but the accused is not talking.  He's a software architect in a company that develops human resource management software in the cloud.  Shortly after receiving the 911 call, the police arrived to find him attempting to revive the victim in the main cube floor where they worked.  The investigating detective on the scene suspected him of covering up his attempt to kill the person.  In an effort to gather more background information on him, they've hired a team of digital forensic experts to search his workplace.

Although the main story may be in the format of a murder mystery, the subtext here lies in the agile manifesto (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agile_software_development):

We are uncovering better ways of developing software by doing it and helping others do it. Through this work we have come to value:
  • Individuals and interactions over processes and tools
  • Working software over comprehensive documentation
  • Customer collaboration over contract negotiation
  • Responding to change over following a plan
That is, while there is value in the items on the right, we value the items on the left more.

This process is a blueprint for how the team develops their application (a human resources application) and the murder is essentially the deliverable at the end of the sprint.
