Her name, Letha, was one those neo-classical derivatives of the Ancient Greek “alḗtheia“ literally meaning “not hidden” or “truth.”
In 1965, she bought a one-way ticket to Cairo from Lubbock, Texas.
She married my father one week after her arrival.
He was her pen pal for the last twelve years.
