Lomochrome Series: Side-by-Side Shooting at Different · Lomography
The LomoChrome Film Series, Are color negative films with color palettes unique to Lomography that also possess an extended ISO range of 100-400. In this photo comparison article, we'll show you the subtle color shifts when you shoot our LomoChrome film in different ISO settings.
LomoChrome Film Series are really unique and special films whose color changes depending on which sensitivity you shoot it with. To give you a slight idea of how the colors shift, our Team in Japan took the LomoChrome Purple and LomoChrome Metropolis and shot them in different ISO settings in different lighting situations. Equipped with an LC-A+. They shot side-by-side photos in three stages: ISO 100, ISO 200, and ISO 400. Let's see how it turned out!
Outdoor Sunshine
Changes appeared in the blue of the sky. Combined with the vignette effect (an effect that darkens the corners of the image), which is a feature of LC-A +, the casual scenery changes completely!
The lower the sensitivity of both films, the lighter it is, and the higher the sensitivity, the darker the color. In particular, Metropolis became a little whitish at ISO 100.
Outdoor Overcast
The sensitivity setting gave a gradient effect. ISO 400 looked darkest color on both of films.
Indoor
In this comparison, we see the color shift of LomoChrome Purple, where blue becomes emerald green and yellow becomes pink. Due to the characteristics of Metropolis under fluorescent lighting in the room, a green shade could easily be observed.
These photos were taken indoors with a little light coming in from the upper right of the image.
You’ll enjoy changes with any cameras!
Do you only have a camera that can't set the sensitivity? No probllem! You can enjoy the change in colour depending on the amount of light in the shooting environment. Please refer to the following lighting situations.
- Outdoor Sunshine (sunlight comes a lot) = low sensitivity setting (ISO 100 / need a lot of light ) → Whitish and pale colour
- Outdoor Overcast (lack of sunlight) = high sensitivity setting (ISO 400 / can shoot with little light ）→ deep coloration
Since the LomoChrome Film Series are colour negative film, it can be developed using the normal colour negative film development method (C-41)!
You must experience the unique look of the same film, where the color tone changes depending on the sensitivity setting and shooting environment.
