Goodreads Quote of the Day for Friday
Fiction is life with the dull bits left out.
Australian writer Clive James (born October 7, 1939) was named Vivian as a child after a male tennis player of the time, but he changed it to something less feminine (actress Vivien Leigh had that covered) and set off on a career as a cultural critic, poet, novelist, and memoirist. His autobiography Unreliable Memoirs and novel Brilliant Creatures were especially popular upon publication, and he also found fame collaborating as a lyricist with musician Pete Atkin in the 1970s.
