Okay, it's March 14th and I'm walking on Mok to work and I've been struggling with again like always. An overarching genre, structure and of course a title that's representative of the genre and structure. I think a found one that sticks because it's broad enough and really captures I think the nuances of the story. So anyway I call it a series of introductions and basically it's a different take on the story cycle. I'm not sure if it's been done before but each chapter or story is essentially an introduction. You know the way you would introduce a character in a story or perhaps the way two characters would introduce each other in a story. And so forth, what perhaps the way a character would talk about themselves in a story. And the thing I like about it is that each introduction can play in some way off the previous one. The classic case is two characters meet. They introduce each other in the process of the introduction or the introductions. A new story is spawned which is that of the introduction. So character A meets character B, character A says yes my parents are C and D. Thus starting the story for characters C and D. And the idea is that this can create a web of stories that are interconnected. But the common theme that keeps the whole piece together at least structurally is that all we're doing is introductions. But the subtext is the story that we see through the introductions. In fact the subtext is that we are much more than who we are on the surface. We are much more than a simple introduction. And in what forms can these introductions occur? Well the classic case is, well in, so we were to just talk about narration. We would have, or voice, we would have first, second and third. First person being, you know, perhaps a child talking about himself the way the narrator does in the story wonder. Or the way a narrator would if you were writing a letter to someone else or dear diary kind of stuff. So, or even online communication, you know, one's profile in an online dating site, etc. Second, you know, a person would obviously be two people talking face to face or online in a chat. And, or one could even be speaking to a, a bot computer for that matter. A virtual character. Or online, two of virtual character. Or through gaming. Or physically through gaming as well. But, yeah, so, you know, and that's where you like, at a party. Oh, what's your name? blah blah blah. Where are you from? blah blah blah. Oh, where, you know, asking, you know, drill down kind of dialogue and spawning new dialogue off of that. A third person would obviously be the narrator talking, introducing a character and commenting on the unique characteristics of that character where they're from, etc. etc. And that's another cool thing about this format is that you don't have to have a single voice the entire time in the story cycle. Or especially if you're focusing on a particular um, I want to say structure about mechanism of the story. If the entire story is a single mechanism of all time, the introduction, then you can place a subtext through the introductions each time. Yeah, be nice to try. Voice in head saying good luck with that trying to deal with it all the rest. But in some ways, this works for me because of the whole, you know, jumping off the diving boards and drawing more lack or inability of doing it, committing. You don't have to commit to this. It's just a bunch of introductions. And collecting them and seeing where you go. How would you start a story? You know, I mean, I remember if I recall, I first came up with this idea because I always felt like the impact that my parents' legacy has left on me has always been felt in the introduction. The impression, I personally leave no impression on people. It's my parents' story. So, you know, at least I feel like it takes the place of any impression that I could have ever given online. So that's one aspect. And perhaps that could be the final chapter where we often is actually explaining how to do it. Hold on, I'm going to stick in the crossing street here. You're in a situation that I don't even get to cross it all. Happy Biker. All right. So, I don't know where it was. I believe I have a, it was some notes about this, I like, ten years ago of the story starting from a simple dinner conversation or bus conversation. Or, you know, like train conversation, etc. etc. Even where two people who don't really know each other that will or stuck or at least are, you know, have the time to sit together and talk. Pause until I get this figure to actually not going to pause. Keep walking. So, actually, I'm going to pause to see if I can hear it. Yes.
