Pharaoh's Fool
On the surface, this story is about Adel, the owner of the Pharaoh's Fool food truck, who succumbs to the impulses in his mid-life crisis and tears himself away from his family to participate in the revolution in Egypt. The story is told in the format of "Heart of Darkness", a superficial search, whose answer is found along the way and ultimate end is a realization that the answer lies within each of us.
The story is narrated by a food truck blogger "Flour Bert" who learns of half of the story after the fact and sets out to find Adel in Egypt.
Adel's food truck is quite popular, not necessarily among the locals of the area, but the ones known as the bridge and tunnel crowd, the weekend tourists that seek his homemade pita's stuffed with a hearty stew made from organic urban farmed fava beans, Roma tomatoes, shallots, garlic and lemon. On special days he serves his "Tame Ya" sandwich, which was discovered by a blogger known as "Bellazoni" an Italian living in the U.S. The sandwich was not your ordinary falafel that could be found in countless dicey Middle Eastern cafes.
Who is Adel's wife?
Who is his Egyptian wife?
What is the initial motivation, thought by Flour Bert, for Adel's escape to Egypt? What time during the revolution does this occur?
