Cardiac Cycle cont'd
The cardiac cycle is a metaphor for the cycle of life itself. Additionally, as this story is about what makes Muslim men tick, it works to pull the reader in and remind them that Muslim men are human too.
The cardiac cycle occurs once every second so, like our own lives, we won't be able to remember every memory or every heartbeat. Just the loud loud ones. Just the calming ones. The stories within the story should be considered as phases or snapshots caught in time whose series, when connected on paper, can serve as the parts to a larger story.
[Thought] The island metaphor (no man is an Island) for our family situation after my father's death. Mother continued to cry because she knew there wouldn't be another ship coming to save us. I had the choice of either leaving the island or helping my mother.
