The Soldier
Metaphor for coping with anger and resentment. Soldier is a warrior who lets his anger control him to the point of having no friends - a fighter who kills all his enemies.
(Back story) Trying to teach his son that fighting and love of war is not the answer.
The Architect
The architect is a metaphor for the struggle to be an individual. Life can feel prefabricated at times and we often feel that we should be living the lives of others (our parents) instead of our own. Keeping up with the Jone's.
(Back story) He is preoccupied with his career and the way his house (constant remodeling) looks to his friends. Tear down the walls!
The Traveler
This is a metaphor for our ability to be honest (and close) with one another. If we don't we risk living the life of the constant traveler who has friends but no true friends. No one he can truly trust from within.
(Back story) Maintains poor relations with his family. THey often feel like they don't really know him. He gets into a fight over a business trip and risks everything as he leaves.
The Lover
Love is trust. It can be lost but it can be found again. Story of the dancer and the pharaoh who loves her so much be build a monument in her honor. Taj Mahal. Queen Nefertari's temple.
(Back story) Man is away about to seal a major business deal, but has to compromise himself to do it. The client wants to go to a strip club and then go to a hotel with the strippers. This is when the man must come to terms with how he feels about his wife. What is making him do this?
