(P8) Man falls back asleep.  Time passes and the night sky begins to change
into the hair and face of a woman.  Her face slowly approaches his
until he suddenly awakes to the sound of her laughter.

She teases him a bit, but then gets down to the point.  She informs him
that his soul has left him and that it has no plan of returning.  Therefore
he might as well be dead now because his life is meaningless now.
Every living day will be another day waiting for his own destruction.

He starts to think of how much he drank the night before and that
this hallucination may be the result of the sleeping pills
and one too many glasses of whiskey.

He tries to ignore her, but her scream is unbearable.  He looks over
at his wife and she is sleeping
soundly next to him and he is shocked she can't hear.

(P22) The next day.  [Start with scene of his house]  He kisses his wife and kids
before he heads off to work.  He walks to the BART station and takes the
train to the city.  The train is stopped due to technical difficulties and
they have to evacuate from the middle tunnel underground.

However,  he notices a funny looking door as he's walking through
the tunnel.  At first glance it appears to be a false door.  He nudges it
a couple of times and gives up.  But as he starts to walk away, the door
opens and he can see a bright shining light through it's cracks.

As he approaches the door it suddenly opens automatically for him
as if controlled by motion sensor.  He then emerges on the other side,
and finds himself in a great hall.  It is a library and he begins to walk
up and down the ailses only to discover that there are only scrolls on
the shelves.  Each scroll contains the life of a great person. Men, women,
babies and animals.

He starts to put two and two togather and realizes that this is some sort
of hall of records and that he's reading the stories of the dead.

He then comes across the scrolls of his family members and
reads their lives just as he remembered them in person.
Then he comes across his own scroll and notices that it has been
erased (or empty).

(P23) It becomes clear to him now that he was not hallucinating last night and
that he is in real danger.  After a few moments, he hears someone
entering and beginning to walk towards him.  He gets up and runs for the
false door and back out to the BART tunnel.

The next few days are pretty surreal.  He doesn't know what to do about
the fact that he is soulless and will not live in the afterlife.

That night he is visited by NUT again.  This time he completely believes
her and begs her to help him.  She tells him that he is the only one who
bring his soul back.  But he
mus remember that
souls have minds of their own and it isn't easy
to convince them to change their mind.

"I'll do anything!  What is it?"

You must create a story that is worthy of the afterlife.
