What is the main metaphor and theme?  A critique of the Adam myth?  A critique of monotheism?  Does God exist in a world that hides our true identity from us? Why is atheism like not knowing your true identity?  When Adam discovers that he was intended for an Egyptian-Muslim life how does he react?  How would anyone react if they discovered their true other self.  How would the adopted child react when they discover their parents were criminals or drug addicts?  They at least have the luxury of preparedness, of the knowledge that one day, if they so desired, they could find their true origins.  Just like the adopted child Adam must discover that Jesus is his adopted Lord and that Allah is his biological God.  How many others walked this same path throughout the years.  Those who know who they are, the native Texans, can simply
