My mother was my savior.  She made me save everything.  "A penny saved is a penny earned." she would always say.  If I have my father to thank for teaching me how to record my purchases, I can thank mother for reminding me to make a note of every penny saved.  It was no surprise that she was responsible for most of my exchanges and returns as well.

Father left us when I was nine.  He had to live in Egypt and manage the family hotel.  I remember watching him late at night as he examined the architectural drawings.  It was a grand design.  It was called El Manar International and was being built in the Mohandessin district of Giza.
