Okay, it's December 9th and it's 8.16 am leaving Paloma just passing. Where Jade has him. Okay, I'll show a little bit on my left. Hmm. It's a slight drizzle this morning. I just dropped off Ben's gift. Nice little ash tray, the exo-gars and ash tray from Egypt. That would be a nice thank you for hooking me up with Apple Watch Disga. But anyway, I started listening to the silent patient and then that's when I got. An idea for the narration and perspective and plot structure for the flight of forest. It has to start with horse and boarding the flight. And... There's a thought, there's one way to approach it where you can say on such and such an aid for us, it's life change forever. Or we can simply not add so much context and let the... descriptions of his mannerisms and his behavior and the mood and the dialogue set that kind of stage. You know, horse was sitting... An annoyed horse got up from his seat. An annoyed horse got up from his seat tired of waiting for the bathroom lights to go off and walked towards the economy section of the plane. You finally saw that at the very rear of the plane, the bathroom light was green and with and baking. But just as he... As he approached, a woman got up from the last row, the middle seat and the last row and darted into the bathroom before he could, before he was within five rows of the door. A few rows of the door. Took another side and decided to just wait. There's no point in going back to my seat now. There's still time. But before he noticed, he... He heard the captains call to prepare for takeoff. And the flight attendant told him he had to get back to his seat. He knew someone was waiting for the person to get out, but she never did. The flight attendant knocked several times on the door, but there was no answer. She called for the mail, purse her to come and check on her. And he banged a little bit louder and all they get here was in a minute. He kept... he persisted. He started to make threats that if she doesn't come out, she will be escorted off the plane. That was more in the door. But before horse snuck his way into the bathroom, actually, a little footnote here, one thing that caught horse's attention that made him kind of stay around. He immediately took a seat that was vacant near the bathroom. And when the mail purse her banged loudly and told her, there's everything alright? She said. I'll be with you in a minute, though. And it seemed a odd thing to him. He had heard it before, and he was trying to place it. And that's when he realized when he had heard it before. It was about a month ago in a small town out in the middle of nowhere in West Texas. The town, with maybe 100 inhabitants at the most. But the town was in a convenient location. It was near his well. It was his... he was on his fourth well now, at there. And the investors were quite pleased. Oil was being pumped. And he was about to start a new well. However, on that day, he had decided that he wasn't going back to Midland to post the next advertisement in the paper about the disposal well. He decided what the heck, to pop into Lemisa, see what this place is like. Since the new well was closer to Lemisa. And that was when he heard it. There was no one in the paper's office that day, or at least so we thought. It was just a little tiny bell. In the shape of a bird, we thought it was rather amusing. And we need tapped on the mechanical button. It made cute little chirps. And after the chirps he heard, I'll be with you in a minute. And before he knew it, the same girl who appeared behind the curtain appeared, came out of the bathroom. He wasn't sure if she recognized him. She seemed a bit extremely out of it. But he couldn't forget her. We now have to describe what she looked like. What how forest would describe it. I'll stop there for now.

(Transcript of Evernote 20200109 08.16.54) And OK December thanks maybe a little awesome I left slow slow drizzle I just dropped off Ben's gift Nice little astroid flexible castration Nice thank you for picking me up. So, it's 8.55 now and I just got off the Richmond San Rafael Bridge passing the Payless storage on the dome thing that stares on it. Anyway, the sun is shining bright in my eyes right now. That's the past Harborway exit. White Jeep in front of me. I just got another idea about how we're going to transition from Horace's perspective to Rose's perspective. When Horace proposes the idea that proposes the plan that Rosa impersonates his fiancee's wife, so that he doesn't have to deal with his aunt when it gets there. That's when we transition perspectives and we go into Rose's perspective who basically is triumphant in that point. She's like, bingo, I have an exactly where I want to. And that is when the reader must understand what is going on. Well, must be saying to themselves what is going on. We don't really know. The reader doesn't know. The reader doesn't know that obviously this is all, you know, we're all sitting inside of Rosa's novel. Rosa herself is in her own novel. And so that is my staying traffic here. So I can keep married. Yeah, that's when we understand that Rosa has had a plan. And now we have to switch gears and kind of allow Rosa to let Horace suggest these things so that she can get closer to her goal. Her goal, at least in the story, is to find the source of the letters. Essentially, the source, if we were to talk about the story as if the letters between Neseem and Florence as if they were a river, the source of that river. What made them come together like the blue and the white Nile? And such disparate parts of the country of the world. What made them want to come together in a time where people, the odds were against them. I mean, there was no way they were going to make it work. And then American coming all the way from out in the middle of nowhere, Texas and suddenly being dropped into a world that was completely unrecognizable. How did this work? How did Florence love Neseem so much? What did he do for her? And that's Rosa's plan. Or what did she do for him for that matter? And Rosa was fascinated by this most ultimate magnetic attraction. I mean, they're not even in their own presence and they're falling in love. How is that possible? And Rosa is determined to find out. And if it means tricking their son, essentially. Now Rosa went to school a bit on Rosa's background. She had gone to school at Texas Tech and studied creative writing. And with Browse the library. And that was when she had found a library book that was checked out by Florence. And in that library book, she had left something behind. She had left one of the letters. Oddly enough, no one had checked out this library book in so many years. It was an old creative writing book. One that would have been republished over and over and over again. An extra one needed for class when most students bought their own. No librarian was ever interested in opening it. They just put it back on the shelf and just left it like that. But at that time, that was when Rosa discovered that Florence, although she had gone to school at Lubbock at Texas Tech, there was no record of her graduating and that she had originally come from Lomisa. And so she did some more researching and she found out that's when Florence actually did leave. There was a newspaper article on her leaving for Egypt. And Rosa wanted to find out more. She thought for sure she would meet Florence again. She would come back. No sign of her. She seemed to have gone off to Egypt and never returned. And she had no record of whether or not she lived or I mean as far as Rosa was concerned, she had hit a dead end. She couldn't find out any more on Florence. And so many years had passed. She realized that she had spent too much of her time researching Florence than actually trying to figure out who or what she wanted to be in life or find a career. And now, you know, because she spent so much time researching in the local papers and stuff like that, she landed an internship at the Lomisa newspaper and just stayed there ever since. And thought maybe one day, somehow somewhere Florence would return. But she did return, but just not as Florence. She returned as far as. And the only way she knew he was Florence's son was by his last name. She had a name only that she had seen it before. It was Naseem's last name. And she had never really seen it. What are the odds of someone with Naseem's last name showing up in Lomisa for a well-disposal application? Impossible. That must mean that Florence returned or he returned without Florence. Maybe he was born in Egypt and had come back, but she had to find out. And that was when she revived her research, but then it was no longer research at that point. It was pure investigation. She immediately went online and tried to figure out how to become a private eye. What does it take? She learned, you know, well, she followed in that very next day, that day. She found out where he lived. She found out where each, she found out the address of each one of the wells that he worked on. She was extremely worried when one day she followed him to the Midland Airport and he just like that got on a flight and she thought, oh my God, I will never see him again. And she waited and waited outside of his apartment for several days until he showed up again. She discovered that that flight went to Houston and that he must have some Houston connection. Perhaps he lives there. Perhaps he's just, I mean, he's an oil guy, right? He's not living in an apartment. Perhaps he has a house. Perhaps he has a girlfriend. That was when she realized she had to follow him all the way to Houston. She knew, though, because he was an oil guy, he was probably keeping very close tabs on his cell phone and his laptop. She shouldn't try to hire a hacker and hijack his email so she could read it. She didn't want to break the law, but she desperately needed to know what his plans were. So she decided to just do pure old school trailing. Sorry, taking a sip of coffee there. Hold on, I'll pause it while I do this.

(Transcript of Evernote 20200109 08.55.36) oh so it's a 25 now and I just got up to Richmond San Rafael bridge passenger unless Storage and the downs in the stores on it anyway sun is shining bright Continued (typed from phone and laptop)

As she’s waiting for Horace’s return outside his apartment complex in Midland, she feels a knock on her window.

“Rosa?  Are you in Midland now?  I thought you said you’d never return here.

It was Ruben.  Her Spanish study partner.  He had a crush on her ever since their first class together.  He bought her drinks at the bars in exchange for tutoring.  He tried to get fresh a couple of times, but he had too much Catholic guilt in him.  He’d gained a lot of weight since she last saw him.

“Hey Gordo!  Looks like Taco Manana has been good to you.”

“Dang Rosa!  That was below the belt.”

She wanted to say, “ you mean the belt that’s holding on for death life?”  but she kept those words to herself.

What are you doing here?

I can’t tell you.  It’s top secret.

No shit?  More spy shit I see.  Man ever since you took that Lawrence of Arabia class you never tell me anything.

It was Arabic,  and guess what?  There’s a lot of it in Spanish so have some respect.

Whatever, I read some of your books in study hall.  They were the colonizers.  They treated the Christians like shit.

Oh, I’m sorry if your fake Spanish heritage (via Mexico) has been harmed.  Grow some more hair on chest.

Like an Arab?

Caiete!  Mamon!

The two laughed it off.

Ok seriously, what are you doing here?

You really want to know?

Yes.

Promise to keep it a secret?  On your tia’s grave may she rest in peace.  You hear me!

It’s about someone who lives here.

Where?  Here?  In my complex?

You live here?

I’m the manager.  This is my house.  Nothing and nobody gets by me.

So you know Horace.

Who The brown Boy scout!  That guy never does anything.  No one complains about him, his rent is always on time.  But it doesn’t matter really.

Why?

Because he just gave notice.

Oh my God no!  When?

End of the month.  What’s it matter to you anyway?

Where is he going?

I dunno.  Back home I guess.

Where does he live?

I can’t give that out.  You know that’s a violation.

Oh come on Ruben.  This is important.

How important?

Very important.

And if I don’t give it to you?  What’s gonna happen?

Please Ruben.  Did you forget all those times I saved you.

What times?

Getting shitfaced at at parties.  I drove you home.  I cleaned the vomit out of your Dad’s truck.  Remember.  For who?  For you!
