Creating Wholeness: Reweaving Your Inner Landscape

IFS Therapy

A Cutting-Edge Approach that Can Be Self-Led

Internal Family Systems (IFS℠) is a cutting-edge form of individual therapy developed by Richard Schwartz, PhD, that provides a step-by-step approach to creating inner wholeness

  • Get to know your various parts (subpersonalities)
  • Target the specific psychological issues you want resolved
  • Know your inner Self as the agent of transformation
  • Access your hidden vulnerable parts for deep emotional healing
  • Transform stuck parts of yourself into inner resources of strength, love, and freedom

Jay Earley, PhD, and Bonnie Weiss, LCSW
We are experienced IFS therapists who offer groups, courses, books, guided meditations, demo sessions, and supervision based on IFS.

Capacity Development

Jay Earley, PhD

We approach personal growth from both sides. IFS helps you work through defenses and heal underlying pain. Capacity Development helps you cultivate those positive qualities for living your life more fully, joyfully, and effectively.

You develop capacities such as Intimacy, Self-Confidence, Strength, Compassion, Spontaneity, Life Purpose Awareness, Respect for Parts, Attunement, and many more. Click here for a list of the capacities.

You work on developing each capacity by

  • Understanding the capacity
  • Doing IFS work on the parts of you that get in the way of the capacity
  • Cultivating the capacity
  • Practicing the capacity in your life

Integrating Capacities into IFS Work

Jay Earley, PhD

IFS Capacity Work shows how to integrate capacities into the IFS process to make it even more powerful. Capacities, such as Compassion, Respect for Parts, Curiosity, and Strength, are aspects of Self. Self doesn’t always manifest in the same way. At any given moment, you can learn to recognize which capacities of Self are there and which ones you need in order to move forward with the IFS process. You can also identify your goal capacity for any given piece of IFS, and this helps with many of the steps in the IFS process. Parts also have capacities, and appreciating this helps them to trust you and to grow.
