Nut's Message

I bring a message from the four sons (of Horus).  They are responsible for your life's path on Earth.  They guide you like the cardinal points of a compass, hold you steady like the rudder of a boat or lift you up like the columns of a temple.  They were once thought to inhabit your internal organs, but the truth is they are closer to you than your earthly involuntary tissue.

(jackal/stomach) Duamutef guards your name from corruption. (Neith) - The soldiers tale.  Life must be endured, like the end of a battle, or a prison sentence, lost on an island (waiting to be saved) or wandering in the desert (for food).

(human/liver) Imsety protects your longevity and immunity from evil.  (Isis) - The architect's tale.  Life (both biological and existential) as a monument of grand design.  Life's designs are often born out of failure (to live is to fail).

(baboon/lungs) Hapi is your true North who oversees the wind in your sails.  (Nephthys) - The travelers tale.  Life is about wandering, being curious, making (responsible) contact with what you do not know.  It is a convergence of imagination and experience.  Those who are not curious will never know.

(falcon/intestines) Qbehsenuef ensures that your legacy is strong and everlasting.  (Serket) - The lover's tale.  Love is a part of life.  Just as life must end, so must love.  A life without love is incomplete, wasted.   Love is as simple as the smile from a child and as complex as the loss of a homeland (longing for a familiar place, like the home, parents, etc).

Your actions have rendered them mute which is why they have sent for me.  They wish to inform you that your soul has left.  You are not dead, but without it, they cannot help you in the afterlife.  Without your ba, Osiris will reject you will be lost to all that know.  Everything that you live for now, will cease to exist.  In your simple earth words, it is like drowning, disease, rape and death in the womb combined.  They ask that you stop this before it's too late.  Find your soul Horace and win it back.  Win your afterlife back.

Horace doesn't know how he will win his soul back until he discovers the library (archive) of lost souls (stories of human existence).  It is here that he meets Thoth who guides him through the place and helps him find four souls (stories) that will lead him back to his own soul and win it back.

The stories are essentially fables that help him understand the value of life.
