Approaching the ticket counter Florence flashback to her days in high school. Your teacher, Mrs. Jones was relentless in her grading of Florences work in home economics class she graded her harshly on cooking assignment, sewing assignment etiquette, and how to be a woman. When Florence stood across the desk of the ticket agent she knew there was no chance to get a ticket without paying. So the money would have to come from her saving. And since she was a college dropout, this money was for her tuition when she was able to go back to school. She had to drop out because , the rules of the boarding house were that she could live there if she had a full schedule of class. No part-time students allowed. So she had to decide would she use her savings or would she return home and wait until she could eventually go back to school again .

The airline tickets to cities nearby. We’re good enough. Florence wanted to go far far away, and she didn’t have the money for that. She felt as if the universe was telling her you can’t do this. This breaks the rules of the game.

Florence recalled The Game of life and asked herself where is the card that says you get to fly far far away never come back.

Before Florence approaches the ticket desk, she consults the departures table and looks for a flight leaving that day.

Or she asks about a flight that won’t leave for another day or next week and the ticket agent is puzzled because she clearly looks like she’s ready to leave.
