It's Sunday December 29th 2019. It's about 7-16 in the morning. I'm sitting in my in-laws apartment in Cairo, Egypt, near the pyramids. I can hear the sounds of car horns honking on the street and on the freeway down below. I was awoken this morning by the sounds of roosters and dogs. I got up and poured myself some coffee and watched a documentary on the untold history of Islam narrated by a historian named Tom Holland. It was very interesting. It put me in the right frame of mind to start talking about the historical context of Rosa and who she is.
