The irony in this is that his blessings always come true.  Barren women become pregnant.  The blind regain the gift of sight.  The deaf regain their hearing.  He becomes so popular that the. Itizens not longer desire the help of the established religious class.  And the most scandalous aspect of it all I s that his service is free.  

The wealthy merchants of potions, mystical charms and the corrupt priests become greatly jealous and decide that the only way they can survive is to put an end to him.  They have him arrested one day on the grounds that he does not have the right to give out these blessings.  He does not have an official certificate from the emperor.  The emperor’s guards take him to the royal dungeon where he must live the rest of his life
