Okay, it's 6.18 pm to Monday, February 10th. And I just passed the Navato Nero's and I was previously dictating and I wanted to dedicate a dictation solely to the outline of the story. And I'll try to keep it going because I probably have twenty more minutes. So, Chapter 1, we meet Rosa, Rosa Alithia in the bathroom of a Boeing 747, headed overseas to Cairo. The plane has just taken off from New York and Rosa Alithia is panicking. She's having a panic attack because she has just realized that she got on this plane with a one-way ticket. She decided she was going to go to Egypt and figure out how to get back. She didn't know how she's going to do this because she doesn't have any money. Now, now... Now, how does she question, how does she not have money? Does she like do an ATM transaction right before she leaves and gets on the plane? Does she do a balance inquiry and find out that there's nothing left? Answer those questions later. So, you know, after some negotiations with the flight attendant who's essentially trying to figure out what's going on and help her, this is all pre-9-11. The year is 1994. And, you know, I think maybe smoking has just recently been banned from airplanes. Or it may be even this is an Egypt air flight, so it's possible that smoking still allowed. Rosa Alithia eventually gets out. She's sweating like crazy. You can see that she's a little out of breath. She's, you know, struggling to get her words out. And... But she appears at least calmer than she was. And she doesn't really look at anyone in the eyes, but simply goes back to her seat. The flight attendant is trying to speak to her, but she's not really answering. And so, as she's walking back to her seat, she completely forgets that she's walking past a horse. But this scene should be told from Horace's perspective. You know, Horace is standing waiting for the bathroom, and then he's slightly taken aback by this woman who's trying to pass through the aisle next to him. Pass beside him in the aisle however you say. And, I mean, he says to her, don't you work at Dawson County newspaper? And she, you know, she's... She says what? I mean, it's almost as if this place is completely forgotten to her at this point. And that's when, you know, she realizes how far she's gone from that place, those words that he mentioned. And I mean, it was a place as simple as the library or the hospital or the backyard. But now those words seem so foreign after what all she's been through. So, she then composes herself, and that's when she's like, yeah. But then she starts to cry again, and Horace doesn't understand why. He's basically like, is it everything okay? I don't mean to, you know, butt in or get in your business or anything, but you seem pretty upset. So, can I... where are you sitting? Are you... you know, maybe I can just help you get back to your seat. And she's like, I'm at my seat. Oh, and it's the last row on the plane. Well, she scoots. You know, as she was scooting in the aisle, that's when it happened. And maybe she's already seated at her seat. I don't know. And that's when he strikes up a conversation with her. This is going to be a challenging conversation, I think. Horace has got to be able to win her trust quickly. But she will have been following him the whole time, and she will know what's partially what's going on with his life. But he won't know that. I mean, she's genuinely feeling distraught. And regrett... She's huge, like, with an intense amount of regret. And also, what am I going to do? And yeah, that scene should really end... You know, with him telling her at the very end, I can... Maybe I can help with that, and he's referring to her... You know, her needing a return trip. Now, what is the significance of Horace helping her with the return trip? If we consider the trip to Egypt as one's life trip, then Horace is perhaps the suggesting that I can help you on your return trip through life. Or perhaps... Yeah, I mean... Horace has to kind of react to her in some way. He has to be... Remember, she is almost the spitting image of Dina is... His girlfriend, Slash Beyoncé, who's just left him, essentially. I'm going to pause here, because I think I'm not really making a lot of sense, and I don't want to do that. But anyway... Yeah.
