Iris and the Relief
Iris has lost the eye and is stuck in the tunnel. I want this to be the major turning point in the story. It should leverage the visual antiquity of ancient Egypt and draw from Plato’s cave. Iris discovers that there are reliefs in the tunnel and that they can talk to her. There is a moment when she asks one of the reliefs if they can describe her. The relief describes Iris as another relief. In fact, the relief is quite shocked when Iris describes him in the same manner.
Iris then tries to touch the relief and ask if it felt anything. The relief simply replies that she never touched him. All she did was wave her arms in front of him.
