Short story cycle graphic novel set on a Nile cruise.
[Continued] - June 1, 2014 - The story is a composite novel. The Nile cruise is a metaphor for life and the stories will follow the pattern of life. The river flows from north to south, but one life, birth to death, can be seen as flowing up river. Death is the final destination, but is also a transitional moment because the river will carry the departed back to the mouth in Alexandria so that a new soul may begin the upriver journey.
Each of the stories will be told from an older perspective consecutively. The first story will be told from the spirit of a child about to be born. The final story will be told from the spirit of a man who has just passed away.
Because life is an upriver cruise Alexandria will be the first setting.
The format of the graphical novel will be consistent with the perception of life as a journey. Travel is also a primary focus, so each of the stories will be set in a travel destination along the Nile. The travel guide and brochure format will dominate the panels.
