Ile de Nantes machines

Near this large yellow crane and marine worlds carousel, under the nave of the former shipyards, there is the Elephant, one of the first creatures ever so successful, and the new girl, a spider that deploys its legs of his hole in the concrete. the elephant charging its passengers for a first walk. Directly in watercolor, I try to grasp it, forgetting the defense left his trunk hinged on my drawing, detail that I will return later. Alongside the Spider is also preparing to move, hemmed in fact many visitors. There is also a heron, an ant and other critters that seem outputs of the pages of an ancient illuminated manuscript. I find these creatures machines de l'Ile in the company of Fabienne Raimbaud and Aliette Gousseau . two Nantes Urban sketchers . both have also performed their version of heron Here is the drawing Fabienne: and that Aliette: Great afternoon! To repeat, and perhaps in no time, Fabienne preparing us one day at Saint-Nazaire.

Sketchcrawl # 50 in Lyon

For the winter session of sketchcrawl, international 50th and 28th for Lyon, after all! ( See the history of appointments ... ), we proposed an appointment in Confluence Museum, just to be able to get warm: the weather promised to be cold, rainy, windy ... brrr! In the final day proved sunny and really nice: T-shirt to chew on the tip of the Confluence, I have not even taken the time to visit the exhibitions ... just a little coffee time 'croqueurs accommodate the many who were not mistaken (fifty "according to organizers" ;-))! Some sketches between two gossip:

A special visit for this session: France 3 has come pay us a visit ... interviews, camera, enough to explore the concept in Rhône-Alpes, we hope, and find themselves even more in the spring !! Thank you Cécile and Thierry for your visit :) To see the report:  Click here!

Thaw in Grenoble

Saturday, February 6, during an improvised sketchcrawl, the conditions were ideal to get out the pencils. By this time, the subjects abound: beautiful people basking on the Museum terrace, moms who gossip in the shade of plane trees of the garden city, and even the Chinese New Year parade in the pedestrian streets ... okay, y'avait two small dragons and a pair of cymbals, but it was still fun to eat!

Sketchcrawl # 50 in Strasbourg

Suzanne seen by Julien
Small return for four hands on the Sketchcrawl of 23 January. The start was done smoothly around a nearby coffee Malraux peninsula. At 10 am, the meeting was given to the library André Malraux we already waited twenty croqueurs. It was a chance for Julien to work a little portrait. Readers are concentrated, perfect for drawing without being noticed! After heated on some portraits, he decided to tackle the view of the city of music from a room height.

City of music and dance by Julien

Lolo meanwhile dreamed for a moment of this breathtaking view from ancient Seegmuller warehouses. The crane once used to load and unload canal boats have been preserved during the redevelopment of the docks and conversion of the library building.

Once recharged the batteries, it was a little hard to take comfort in heated rooms. This is the moment chosen by lolo for chewable outside the building.

I was fortunate to be invited by my friend Bruno in his magnificent Garage specializes in old Porsche.
Bruno is the happy owner of a magnificent blue Sunbeam he elegantly retyped!

I was very moved to draw this Sunbeam it belonged to my grandfather, the pressure was great. Especially since I slept on paper the beauty adored by their owners, I do not want to disappoint them!

To release tension (relative!) I allowed myself to do more free sketches that I will treasure memories!

A year drawing to Quimperlé with Crunchers Quimperlois!

A year ago I joined the group of "Crunchers Quimperlois" which meets every Monday morning in Quimperlé since late 2014. It is a Pascal Thibault initiative, which also works in the library of Quimper.
It gives usually go to the bar of film (Bremond d'Ars street) in lower town, around 9am (since this was what happened at 9:30 am) and will draw in town for 2 hours. See you at the same bar (or elsewhere) in the late morning. Pascal takes the designs of each picture to put on the blog "the quimperlois croqueurs" So I can not resist the pleasure to return here a few drawings of this past year I selected a few on the theme of water, an issue very present in this city, quite regularly flooded during conjunctions between high tide and storm

Port Brigneau - August 17, 2015 Over the year, the Group has grown increasingly. We are now regularly 10 to 12 (sometimes 15!) To join us on Monday morning: Pascal, Gerard, Bernard, Jean-Michel and Marie-René, Marie-Pierre, Annick, Marie-Odile, Valerie, Christian, Brigitte, Rosine, Sylviane, Liliane, Claude, Lynne, Sally, Martine, Melissa (an American who has a gallery in Pont-Aven), Renee .... Our group is emulated because Quintric Claude, who came with us this draw been founded another group in the peninsula of Crozon (see blog diaries of the peninsula), which meets Tuesday afternoon. Several members of the group registered on USK France and opened a gallery on Flickr, so you can find (in addition Pascal Thibault): Christian Angué, Quintric Claude, Marie-Odile Brionne, Melissa Ferreira, Renée Toupin We will meet in 2016 full of enthusiasm for a new year of drawing Meanwhile I Urban Sketchers wish all of France (and elsewhere of course!) a very happy new year
