Why does love resolve conflict?

What causes the conflict that we so emphatically hate and want love to conquer?  Amor omnia vincit

Who are the all?  How did they get there?  Shouldn't the quote read "Love conquers all and creates more conflict."

Why did Adam have to love Eve?  What was the serpent doing before he saw them in the garden? Perhaps he was in love with Eve or Adam.

Can a love story be told in the negative?  Can it be framed from the eyes of those disaffected by that particular relationship?

BigOT hates the frivolity of love, the innocent playfulness that can turn sour, dry up, drought.

He wants to protect the truth of love, conserve the water, and not listen to the reasoning mind of temporary attraction.  Perhaps he comes from parents who were hard working farmers (reference to Hold Autumn in Your Hand), who knew the risks of trying to rely on the land. Or perhaps he is the son of Dust Bowlers who came to the prairie in search of a better life and were torn from its root like a dead tumbleweed.

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. described bigotry in the following quotation: "The mind of a bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract."[2]

A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle. Attempted removal from school library by Mormon parent (hypocrisy of attempting to fight bigotry).
