I want to, if I want to call chapter 1 anything, call it somewhere in between individual augmenting or devalant down to the dialla or devalant down to the dialla. The point of it is is because Adam will meet the devil there. They will be on one of their night water runs and they will clearly face someone trying to deter them when Packer gets a laser sight through his night vision goggles. When they finally pull up to the shore of the dialla they will find a man standing on a tree stump in a place where there is no tree stump at all. He has to appear completely fearless and calm to them. He has to come in a way that he clearly has some kind of power or control over the situation that they are not aware of. Now, what we don't know is whether or not and maybe there will be laser sighted on them which keeps them from firing upon the man. The vision of him has to be described in a very clear way that he is not horrific but something you don't see and will never see again. Now, the dead goose around his neck will be the symbol that can't be seen. I can't now see the reader that this is somewhat of a tale that came to the ancient manor. They may actually be in for something lost at sea. In addition to that, or perhaps the dismount was lost at sea. Someone has bold enough to shoot his goose. Maybe that's when Adam feels the pain in his knee without any shots fired. The man runs to the water and dies in. They find no traces of him afterward and the squad takes him home immediately to seek medical attention. That's when he wakes up and learns that he got bit by his neck. He is from the light or from the fall or from some other object. What kind of a tool or weapon could he have? How can he be threatened to the soldiers other than the laser sight to which they don't know the source? I don't know yet to figure that out.
