How Horace changed his name

Horace relates how he got his name to Rosa-Alethea on the flight.  A continuation of the birth metaphor.

Horace had an American birth certificate because his mother returned home to give birth to him.

She and his father disagreed on the matter of where he should be born.  She gave him an ultimatum, ‘you’ll let me have my baby in the United States and when I’m ready, I’ll come back with our child.  If you don’t accept this, I will not return.”

He was born in a Lutheran hospital in Houston and had complications during childbirth.  She was hemorrhaging and passed out.  The nurse was very quick to catch her child before he fell to the floor. They immediately brought the doctor and went to work trying to revive her and save her life.

Her child was cared for in the infant care room while she recovered.  She was in a coma for a week.  When she came to, she was so happy to learn that she had a healthy baby boy and was ready to return to Egypt with him.

However, she was conflicted over the misspelling of his name.

Why does it say Horace?

What do you mean?  That is the name you told us to register?  I remember it quite clearly.  It was shortly before you passed out.  I asked you if you had a name in mind for him.  You said, “His name is Horace.”

“I remember it as plain as day.”

“There is only one Horus.  And it’s spelled

H-O-R-U-S.  Now please change it.

Well ma’am.  I can certainly try, but there are a few issues with that.

Explain how the hospital is a private Christian one and the child naming renaming resides in the medical board.  Headed by pastor and other heads of the church who will most likely refuse the rename request.

Why?

They only approve of Christian names, not ones of pGan gods.  [The nurse doesn’t say this but Florence puts the words in her mouth.  Let me guess, you don’t like Horus because it’s not Christian or Jewish or even Muslim for that matter.  You don’t like Horus because it’s pagan!
