Here’s an idea for a story format. I think I got it from secret messages how to pass them around. I was probably also inspired by various mathematicians or people who attempted to analyze holy texts or texts in general like the Koran or the Torah and come to some sort of analytical conclusion that oh it has this number of chapters that start with this letter or the total number of letters in this chapter in that.
What if an author could construct a story that actually fit one of those theories. Perhaps the first letter of each chapter formed a word that was only obvious when you finished. Or perhaps it required the reader to finish in order to go back and decipher some similar message.
Think of an a set of audio messages. Think of the length of each message and its relationship to a larger message. Think of the contents of each message as a distraction or a cover-up of the simpler message. A good example of this is hiding an SOS signal in a set of messages that say I’m OK. What if the letter S equals one and the letter O equals two? Then consider a set of messages that say in message one I’m OK . Then in message to the message says I’m OK I’m OK. And then message three it goes back to I’m OK once. The larger message is 121. Or one zero one. Or SOS.
