December 19th: She mentions that he can write to Dexter and Sanford via various military addresses in Europe. Additionally, she mentions that he should remember Kay because she was there when the first letter from Egypt arrived.
She also mentions that she has started reading the Koran and is wondering why he has suggested she do so. She thinks he's trying to convert her but thinks it's logical and isn't bothered by it.
She mentions that she is concerned about what she was taught in college (about Islam) and is reading the Koran to see for herself, if her professor was right.

She mentions that she had shown her boss the cartoon (from the Egyptian magazine) and he laughed very loud, more than she had ever seen.
[December 21]
Her boss writes a short note to S, telling him that it was nice of him to think of "Jenny and Me" but not to think too bad about the boy. He was merely afraid of committment (not sure what he means).
