[Interviewer] So how did you two meet?
The couple looked at each other and laughed.
[Mariela] (looks at David) Weren’t you…
[David] Yeah. I was like kinda… (pause) Let’s just say the situation was fluid. How bout you tell it Babe.
[Mariela] Well it was at the Met on a Sunday afternoon. I was looking at a painting by Picasso.
[David] Yeah and I was looking at a Matisse. Oh. Sorry. Go one Babe.
[Mariela] Well I guess we were both backing up at the same time.
[David] Yeah we were trying to get a better view…(grins and looks at her) of the painting.
[Mariela] Are you gonna let me tell it? (Smiling)
[David] Of course. Go ahead. Sorry Babe.
[Mariela] Well I guess we were both walking backwards, in the same direction. (laughs) And we just bumped into each other. Like the universe was telling us to meet.
[David] Yeah we started chatting, you know small talk.
[Mariela] And we just kept talking and going from one room to the next. By the time we arrived in that room with the pond, the Egyptian room, the temple.
[David and Mariela simultaneously] We were holding hands and didn’t even know it.
