G. Willow Wilson (born August 31, 1982) writes the Hugo Award-winning comic book series Ms. Marvel, whose protagonist is an American Muslim girl. The author (an American Muslim herself) won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel for Alif the Unseen, which features a young Arab hacker. Her other comic book series and graphic novels include Cairo (Vertigo Comics), Vixen: Return of the Lion (DC Comics), and Mystic: The Tenth Apprentice (Marvel Comics).
