The French novelist Stendhal (born January 23, 1783) was passionate in both love and work. His attack of dizziness upon viewing Giotto's frescoes for the first time was later identified as a psychosomatic illness and named Stendhal Syndrome—being overcome by an abundance of art and beauty.
