Psychologist Joyce Brothers (born October 20, 1927) dispensed life advice to millions of people on TV and radio beginning in the late 1950s, with shows such as Ask Dr. Brothers, Consult Dr. Brothers, and Living Easy with Dr. Joyce Brothers. Her self-help books reached countless more, with titles like Widowed, What Every Woman Should Know About Men, and How to Get Whatever You Want Out of Life. Who knew that she was also an authority on boxing? In 1955, with knowledge of that subject, she won the top prize on the TV game show The $64,000 Question—the first woman to do so.
