I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list.
January 3, 1951: On this day, a then 17-year-old Susan Sontag married her sociology instructor. Acknowledging the brashness of her decision (the two had become engaged only ten days after meeting), she wrote in her diary, "I marry Philip with full consciousness + fear of my will toward self-destructiveness." Their marriage lasted eight years.
