December 22, 1905: Kenneth Rexroth was enamored of Asian poetic forms like haiku, but what he loved most was love itself—that emotion was the focus of much of his work. Rexroth was an associate of the Beats and hosted the event at which Allen Ginsberg debuted "Howl."
