Tenth of December is a 2013 collection of short stories by the American writer and short story master George Saunders. It was a finalist for the National Book Award and won the inaugural Folio Prize. The collection’s title story relates a dramatic and moving chance encounter between a young boy and a suicidal cancer patient at a frozen lake. Saunders, the author of nine books, teaches creative writing at Syracuse University.
